The Koolau Amateur Radio Club (KARC) meets on the second Saturday of each month at 9:30 Am in the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens visitor center. The next meeting will be November 12th, 2016. The KARC meeting is open to everyone and its purpose is to further the exchange of information and cooperation between members, to promote radio knowledge, fraternalism and individual operating efficiency, and to so conduct club programs and activities as to advance the general interest and welfare of Amateur Radio in the community.

The Original Big Island of Hawaii International Swap meet / Ham Fest

The Big Island of Hawaii International Swap meet will be Saturday November 12th, 2016 at the Waimea Community Center, next to the ball field off Mamalahoa Highway in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii.


8:00am – breakfast at Hawaiian Style Cafe
9:00am – vendor setup
9:30am – Doors open to public. Be sure to get your raffle tickets for the “Big ticket items”
12:00pm – Setup for VE testing. Guest speakers – Presentations in adjoining room.
1:00pm – VE testing (a good time to upgrade your license)
2:00pm – Event comes to a close

The Emergency Amateur Radio Club of Honolulu, (EARC HI), will hold their annual meeting on November 15th, 2016. The meeting will be held at the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 46, 891 Valkenburgh Street Honolulu, HI 96818 at 7 p.m. The EARC HI meeting is open to everyone and is held to educate Ham Radio Operators, family members, and the general public on Amateur Radio related topics. There will be a potluck dinner and the topic will be lead by AH0A, Joe, the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) Section Manager will give a talk and our Annual Holiday Party Theme.
