We are fortunate Brad Hokanson (NH2CY) has agreed to join the ARRL Pacific Team as the Assistant Section Manager representing Guam.

He has extensive public service experience. Brad retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 20 years of service in 1990, joined the Guam Police Department for 26 years during which he managed the Guam Public Safety Communication System and was the Statewide Interoperable Communications Coordinator (SWIC) for Guam.

Brad’s impressive EMCOMM credentials include US Coast Guard and DHS COML training and he is now a certified COML instructor. He has DHS and NIFC COMT as well as DHS AuxComm training and was a member of SAFECOM (advises DHS on communication policy).

His Coast Guard experience led him to manage the Guam Recreational Boating Safety Program and become the Boating Law Administrator (BLA) for Guam.

As Guam ARRL ASM, Brad will be helping us build Amateur Radio on Guam and in developing ARES/RACES programs to serve the Guam community.

Brad is the current President of the Marianas Amateur Radio Club, the largest Amateur Radio club on Guam.

Welcome aboard Brad!
